Adult Skills Fund (formerly AEB) Courses

ASF courses are government funded courses (free to individuals and schools) that help people to develop the skills they need to effectively work with young people in a school setting.

We can bring this learning to your school to help you support your staff and volunteers.

Our Services

What are ASF funded courses?

The ASF is the Adult Skills Fund. It funds learning for adults who want to develop their skills in different areas and gain qualifications to reflect that learning.

How can we use fully funded* ASF courses to support our school?

Our expertise is in using the Adult Skills Fund to bring fully funded courses to schools to help those schools to support their non-qualified staff and volunteers who work with young people.

Through these qualifications, non-qualified staff and volunteers develop their skills in supporting young people and gain Level 2 qualifications that reflect this learning.

Evidence for these qualifications is collated from the work that staff and volunteers undertake both in school and their learning at home, which is mapped to learning outcomes with the help of a Tutor in a weekly face-to-face session that runs in line with the academic year (again, fully funded by the ASF).

Unlike apprenticeships, there is no off-the-job training requirement and the course can be completed in 32 weeks within an academic year.

What does the course contain for learners?

We can help bring the "Level 2 Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools" ASF learning pathway to your school, which if completed will award learners the following qualifications:

  • Level 2 in Safeguarding and Prevent
  • Level 2 in Understanding Specific Learning Difficulties
  • Level 2 Certificate in Employability Skills (professionalism and teamworking)
  • Level 1 in Mentoring
  • Level 1 in Interpersonal Skills (mindset and assertiveness)
