Learner Focused Learning

A pedagogical approach rooted in student responsibility for their own learning; in the flexibility to allow learning mastery and holistic development; and in heterogenous models of success that allow all students to thrive.

What is Learner Focused Learning?

A framework around which to build an educational environment.

Learner-Focused-Learning isn't a single teaching strategy or pedagogical approach. It is a set of underlying principles around which an educational environment, a culture, a school can be built.

It differs because it calls on educators to challenge existing assumptions, the institutions, systems, classroom models, and political discourses, to put the individual learner back in the centre of their pedagogical approach.

In addition to the core principles, we offer below our experience of building Learner Focused Learning environments to allow you to kick-start your journey and avoid the mistakes we made when starting out.
